Pupil of the month: Thomas Lagraize was selected as a student of the month for January at Bayou Beouf Primary. He is in Nicolle Borne's 1-A class. He is the son of Paul IV and Amy Lagraize.

Birthday tidings: Jan Martinez celebrated her 55th birthday with a night out with family and friends at La Casa, Diamond Horseshoe and Rule's Daquari. She also celebrated with a birthday lunch at China Gardens, with kinfolk members, and a birthday supper at Western Sizzlin.

Krewe of Choupic: Krewe members will trim the king and queen's float at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Chackbay Fairgrounds.

The krewe's Mambo soir is scheduled from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Feb. 18 at the Chackbay Fairgrounds. Production will be provided by Reese Chiasson. Admission costs $10 per actually for non-members.

The Krewe of Choupic parade is scheduled for 1 p.m. Feb. 21. Carry off judging begins at 11:45 a.m. All members riding will be required to show their membership possible. No money will be collected on the parade route.
