Guster goes acoustic at the Aladdin Theater… with strings! And jokes!

On Guster’s  first-ever (“organize of billed as such,” according to Ryan Miller) all-acoustic trek, they brought along the normal crew, with the three-founding members Adam Gardner (vocals, guitar, bass, piano, shock trumpet), Miller (vocals, guitar, bass, ukulele, piano), Brian Rosenworcel (drums, seated bongos, other percussion), and the newest beyond, Luke Reynolds (backing vocals, guitar, bass, banjo, piano), with an increment of two string players (violin and cello), billed as the Guster Play fast Players.

But in all actuality, “When we started we were much closer to this than we’ve been recently,” Miller admitted on the phone from Seattle the day until to their sold-out Portland show at the Aladdin Theater  on Tuesday, March 13th. “But this is our first, class of purposefully stripped back presentation.”

Also joining the band on stage were a unite of plants (from Salt Lake City—the first date of the acoustic shift), a city skyline lamp (from Seattle), and thanks to a few industrious Portlanders, a few clocks.
