Trajecitos de Bebe at SM

A CHRISTENING gown is a good garment worn by infants and small children during a Christian baptism or hallowing ceremony. In a dominantly Catholic country like the Philippines, parents associate much importance to their little one’s baptism. Considered a rite of passage, it is often a over the moon event attended by family members and friends. And the good word is that SM now has Trajecitos de Bebe, a line of ready to wear baptismal clothes in its Infants Sport Department.
Infant Christenings originated from the Jewish bins and zeved habat rituals, in which children are named and dedicated to God. The Christian church adopted compare favourably with custom, with children and adult converts wearing white clothing to represent their "newness of life" in Christ.
Up to the 17th century, callow babies were wrapped in tight swaddling clothes carried to the font in a fearing fabric. The first Christening robes were made in the style of every day by 18th century children – slip dresses with a very extensive flowing skirt falling from a short, tucked bodice, low neck, and short sleeves.
